Tyler Goes Green
Liv Tyler - Born: Portland, Maine on 7/1/1977
Liv Tyler has signed on to play Betty Ross, the longtime love interest of Dr. Bruce Banner/the Hulk, in The Incredible Hulk. Ross, a classic Hulk character from the comic book's beginning in 1962, is Banner's fellow scientist and an ally in his quest to rid him of his lurking monster deep inside. The movie will unfold with Ross estranged from Banner (Edward Norton), but with the pursuit of the Hulk heating up and Banner on the run trying to cure his condition, Ross finds herself swept back into his life. Jennifer Connelly, who played the character in the original 2003 movie, looked sorely out of place. Tyler seems like a better fit, although it may still be hard to buy her stint as a scientist.
Liv Tyler to Butt Heads with "Strangers"
"We haven't seen a whole lot of the lovely Liv Tyler lately, but here's some pretty good news for the fans: She's about to take on the lead role on Rogue's upcoming survival thriller called "Strangers."
"Liv Tyler has signed to star in Rogue Pictures?"Strangers," for writer/director Bryan Bertino. Production will begin this fall on the movie, which is scheduled for a nationwide release in October 2007. Rogue co-presidents Andrew Karpen and Andrew Rona made the announcement today.
"Strangers" is a suspense thriller revolving around a couple in a remote suburban house who are targeted by three dangerous masked strangers. The resulting clashes force the couple to go well beyond what they thought themselves capable of in order to survive. Mr. Bertino will be making his feature directorial debut on Strangers from his own original screenplay. Ms. Tyler will play the female half of the couple; the male role is out to actors, as are the roles of the home invaders."

Another Comedy from Tim Allen
Tim Allen - Born: Denver, Colorado on 6/13/1953
I don't always appreciate Tim Allen comedies, but he keeps making them regardless of my opinion. Maybe that's because he rakes in the cash hand over fist each time he headlines one. The latest comedy being developed for the actor isYosemite Three, in which Allen plays a corporate employee who heads off on a company retreat. Bored with a mandated nature hike, he and two others hole up in a bar and are reported missing in Yosemite National Park. They longer they stay missing, the more popular they become in news reports. That just doesn’t seem at all funny to me, but Allen will likely make the most of it--and be rewarded handsomely at the box office.
Tim Allen marries his longtime girlfriend (Published: Tuesday, October 10, 2006)
More power to Tim Allen. The comic actor got married this weekend to his girlfriend of five years, actress Jane Hadjuk, in an intimate Colorado ceremony.
The couple's family were the only guests at the private affair, held Saturday in Grand Lake, Colo., Allen's publicist, Marleah Leslie, said Monday. Allen's 17-year-old daughter, Katherine Dick, was among the attendees.
It is the first marriage for Hadjuk, 39, and the second for Allen, 53. He was previously married to Laura Deibel.
Hadjuk and Allen appeared together earlier this year in the made-in-Toronto children's action film Zoom.
Allen, whose early comedy routines often centred on men and power tools, hit stardom with his long-running TV series Home Improvement. He'll be seen in the upcoming The Santa Clause 3 with Martin Short and recently finished filming Disney's Wild Hogs with John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and William Macy.

Witherspoon Puts Her Producing Hat On
Reese Witherspoon - Born: New Orleans, Louisiana on 3/22/1976
Reese Witherspoon's Type A Films is developing Under the Bridge, based on Rebecca Godfrey's true-crime account of a brutal high school murder. The story chronicles the 1997 killing of high school student Reena Virk in a small British Columbia town as well as the ensuing investigation and prosecution. Godfrey, who's from the same area, returned to her hometown to research the eight high schoolers who were charged in the case, investigating the cliques at the group's well-off school as well as the life of Virk, the daughter of Indian immigrants. Two of the students were convicted in 2005. Thirteen helmer Catherine Hardwicke is in talks to direct the film, which makes sense. These River's Edge-type stories really do give me the creeps, especially knowing they are true.
Reese Witherspoon
Reese Witherspoon, known for creating unforgettable characters, has become a favorite of both audiences and film critics alike. She follows Just Like Heaven with a starring role opposite Joaquin Phoenix in Walk the Line, which depicts the rise to fame of music legends Johnny and June Carter Cash.
For her performance as the relentlessly driven high school senior Tracy Flick in Alexander Payne's 1999 satire Election, Witherspoon received Golden Globe, Independent Spirit Award and American Comedy Award nominations, as well as Best Actress Awards from the National Society of Film Critics and the Online Film Critics. She earned her second Golden Globe nomination for the 2001 comedy smash Legally Blonde, in which she starred as the indomitable Gemini vegetarian Elle Woods, who doesn't compromise her fashion sense on the way to earning a Harvard Law degree.
In 2002, Witherspoon again proved to be a formidable box office draw with the romantic comedy hit Sweet Home Alabama. The following year, she stepped back into Elle Woods' pumps to star in the successful sequel Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, in which Elle takes on Capitol Hill. Witherspoon also executive produced the film, marking her producing debut. She has since formed her own production company, Type A Films, which has a broad slate of films in development.
Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Witherspoon made an auspicious feature film debut in 1991 in Robert Mulligan's coming-of-age drama The Man in the Moon, garnering acclaim for her performance as a young girl who faces heartbreak and tragedy with her first love. She went on to star in A Far Off Place; Jack the Bear; Fear, opposite Mark Wahlberg; Cruel Intentions, with Ryan Phillippe; and Robert Benton's thriller Twilight, with Paul Newman, Susan Sarandon and Gene Hackman. She discovered her gift for comedy with the independent film Freeway, for which she won Best Actress Awards at two international film festivals, and explored it further in Gary Ross' fantasy comedy Pleasantville, with Tobey Maguire. Witherspoon has also donned corsets to star in two British period films: the big-screen adaptation of Oscar Wilde's romantic farce The Importance of Being Earnest, and Mira Nair's voluptuous take on the William Makepeace Thackeray classic Vanity Fair.

Clooney’s CIA Obsession
George Clooney - Born: Lexington, Kentucky on 5/6/1961
George Clooney and his Smoke House partner Grant Heslov will co-write a dramedy for Escape From Tehran, which details how the CIA, with help from Hollywood, used a fake movie project to smuggle a handful of Americans out of Tehran during the 1979 hostage crisis. According to Variety, Clooney may direct the project for Warner Bros. Based on Joshuah Berman's Wired magazine article, the story centers around CIA operative Tony Mendez, a master of disguise who was put in charge of rescuing six Americans hiding out in Tehran. He came up with the idea of using a bogus movie and contacted Hollywood makeup artist John Chambers. Chambers and Bob Sidell, also a makeup artist, launched Studio Six Prods. (an allusion to the six Americans awaiting rescue) and announced their first movie project, to be shot in Iran. At the time, both Variety and the Hollywood Reporter were duped into writing news stories on the film after Studio Six took out trade ads. Mendez went to Tehran in January 1980 and told the Americans to pretend they were Canadians on a scouting trip for a big-budget Hollywood epic. The ruse worked. It’s Wag the Dog to the nth degree. Sign me up!

Miller, Murphy Get Ready to Shake; Cusack Doesn’t Know When to Stop
Sienna Miller - Born: New York, New York on 12/28/1981
Sienna Miller and Cillian Murphynwill star in the British counterculture comedy-drama Hippie Hippie Shake. The story is based on Richard Neville's account of his misadventures in London at the end of the swinging '60s. Anthony Minghella (Art School Confidential) and newcomer Emma Booth will also star. Sounds a bit Austin Powers-ish, isn’t it? Meanwhile, John Cusack is attached to star in director Jan de Bont's indie action thriller Stopping Power. Cusack will play a test pilot who sets off on a series of high-speed chases to save his kidnapped daughter from an escaped thief. Hmmm. Although de Bont is a fairly capable action director (Twister, Speed), I’m just not seeing Cusack as an action hero. This is much more suited for Nicolas Cage.
Sienna Miller and New Man at Chateau Marmont
The scourge of Pittsburgh herself, Sienna Miller, isn't letting her singledom last too long by the looks of things. The over-bronzed waif was spotted on Tuesday night at the infamous Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, snuggling on a couch in the hotel restaurant's living room area with Josh Hartnett. The two were seen "laughing and chatting for about an hour."
The pair eventually ended up poolside, but not before Hartnett grabbed onto Sienna's scrawny thigh when she stood up in front of him. Perhaps they popped into one of the Hillside Bungalows with private street entrance to finish the night? Of course flacks are saying the standard "they're just friends" bit, but we know where a night at the Marmont can end up....

Don’t Go Near The Ruins; Harnett Plays in Rain
Josh Hartnett - Born: St Paul, Minnesota on 7/21/1978
Laura Ramsey, Jena Malone and Shawn Ashmore have made it to The Ruins, a thriller based on the bestselling Scott B. Smith novel. The project revolves around a group of friends on a leisurely Mexican holiday that takes a turn for the worse when a go-getter pre-med student (Jonathan Tucker) persuades them to accompany a fellow tourist on a remote archaeological dig in the jungle, where something evil lives among the ruins. Ohhh, evil IN the ruins. What a novel idea! Meanwhile, Josh Hartnett will star in I Come with the Rain, a drama that will shoot in Hong Kong. He'll play a private detective who, haunted by a past encounter with a serial killer, heads for the Far East to search for a missing heir with the power to heal with his touch. Sounds like another winner for the actor. No, not really.

Patrick Dempsey - Born: Lewiston, Maine on 1/13/1966
OK, so this one is My Best Friend's Wedding in reverse. Sydney Pollack, Kadeem Hardison and Beau Garrettare joining Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan in the romantic comedy Made of Honor. The story revolves around Tom (Dempsey ) and Claire (Monaghan), who have been platonic friends for 10 years. He's a serial dater, while she wants marriage but hasn't found Mr. Right. When she asks Tom to be her "maid" of honor, he reluctantly agrees just so he can attempt to stop the wedding and woo her.
